Ever notice how people like to criticize the mistakes of others by describing them as being “naive” or, synonymously as “stupid”?
Matthew 19:14 King James Version (KJV)
But Jesus said, “Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”
Instead of innocence ever being valued as a virtue, it’s always used as a pejorative these days. The Lord has to remind us that innocence is in fact a virtue, perhaps one of the highest to be esteemed.
The next time you think about describing someone as either childish or naive, think a little more. Perhaps the object of derision should be yourself rather than the other person.
