Are you a child? You very well might be (in which case welcome, precocious one), as many children do read. Perhaps I should ask if you dress yourself in the morning, bathe yourself, feed yourself or cross the street without someone holding your hand? Wrong questions here too as again, many children are able to do these things independently as well.
Somehow or another, we have managed to get ourselves into a position (as voting age adults) where we require someone else to make up the rules for our daily lives. These malevolent benefactors are not our parents (a visual disgusting in itself, us being “adults” and all) however, they are called legislators aka politicians.
Now, I am the first to admit that I have never taken a civics class and do not fully understand how our legislature works but I know this much, as any big kid does, that I can tie my own shoes myself. Why on earth then, do I need some legislator making up laws that I have to live by when I have absolutely no say in the matter? The laws that I am talking about are called “bills” and require zero input from the people in order for them to become laws. Oh, some smarty pants person who has taken a civics class will condescendingly explain to me, very slowly and carefully, that bills are drafted and sponsored by our representatives in the legislature and that those representatives only do the will of the people. They will also tell me that I in fact do have a say in whether I want this new law, by being able to vote. I can either vote in or vote out my representative (my only choice really). Maybe, but that answer misses the point. Although I may get a direct say in local elections through propositions, most law written is done by legislative representatives. We only have the illusion of choice, the actual control rests with the political parties and their delegates, and the courts. We have little choice in electing justices either.
With one politician representing thousands of individuals, the only votes that count come from those who finance the politician’s next campaign, which are very expensive. Lobbyists are the only “constituents” that matter since they represent voters who are willing to donate sizable amounts of money to the re-election efforts of that representative. Throw in outright GRAFT (bribing politicians) and you no longer have a representative democracy that does the will of the people, you have a criminal cryptocracy and fascism, which only does the will of moneyed special interests.
I mean look, you put that much power in the hands OF ANY ONE INDIVIDUAL and sooner or later human weakness takes over. Whether the politician is simply greedy or under threat by unseen forces, that politician is going to do the will of the people who have the most money and power. Kennedy found that out the hard way, Reagan found that out too, so did many smaller fish (idealistic politicians) down the line too innumerable to mention. All because we’ve taken the lion’s share of the decision making out of the hands of the individual citizen and entrusted that collective will in the hands of one, single person. WHAT DO YOU THINK IS GOING TO HAPPEN?? DUH! Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
It would be really hard for me go against the Framer’s designs for the structure of our republic were it not for the proof staring us right in the face. How many elected officials have we seen prosecuted over the last decade for criminal acts while in office? Rod Blagojevich for trying to SELL Obama’s vacant senatorial seat. Jesse Jackson Jr. for misusing $750,000 in campaign funds and his wife for tax evasion. Eight former officials in Bell, California for misappropriation of funds. Ed Jew here in San Francisco for lying about where he lived and bribery. Two San Francisco Health Department Inspectors for bribery. Ron Dellums for tax evasion, also aiding and abetting the murder of journalist Chauncey Bailey by Your Black Muslim Bakery (a documented child molestation den now defunct). Deborah Edgerly, former Oakland City Administrator, who stole thirty three million dollars from city coffers and also acted as an Oakland PD Gang Task Force interceptor for her nephew and illicit business partner, a drug dealing gangster (she is now back in Oakland working for the SEIU as a consultant). I just happen to think that the SEIU is a mafia anyway, our scummy janitor here is an SEIU shop steward, “gangstalker” and overall douche, just for example.
I understand that at the time of our Constitutions drafting the primary concern was to break from the feudal system that the founders had just broke away from in Europe. I also understand that a federalist system was meant to facilitate a cohesive strength and order for the union and that it was probably necessary. What we have today however, is not what the Constitution prescribes. Only Congress is supposed to be able to declare war, but now the President does it through Executive Orders. We are supposed to “coin” or make our own money yet, our money is owned by a private banking cartel known as “The Federal Reserve”. There is nothing federal nor governmental about this entity, it is privately owned and we must have permission to use it’s legal tender, which can be rescinded at any time. The “Federal” Reserve’s roots can be traced back to 1910.
” It was not an accident that a permanent income tax was also introduced the same year when the Federal Reserve system was established. The whole idea was to transfer wealth from our pockets to the federal government and from the federal government to the bankers. The Federal Reserve was designed to be a perpetual debt machine. The bankers that designed it intended to trap the U.S. government in a perpetual debt spiral from which it could never possibly escape. Since the Federal Reserve was established nearly 100 years ago, the U.S. national debt has gotten more than 5000 times larger.”
“According to Article I, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution, the U.S. Congress is the one that is supposed to have the authority to “coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures”. So exactly why is the Federal Reserve doing it?”
Kennedy tried to get us out of this criminal arrangement and well, you see what happened to him. Our representative legislators have become “professional” politicians with virtually unlimited terms, something that was not the case way back then either, most had outside businesses and occupations. George Washington warned us not to become entangled in “foreign relations”, especially Europe. Who’s our best buddies now? Britain and Germany. All we get with todays federalist system is a bunch of untouchable crooks and cronies.
As if all of this weren’t bad enough, lets not talk about the Electoral College. Doesn’t that idea speak for itself? A vote by wire nation with just a little help from the Supreme Court when the vote is close (election fraud). Seems like the individual voter has the least amount of say when we should have it all.
A direct democracy is the answer. One voice, one vote and no, CORPORATIONS ARE NOT PEOPLE. Can you believe that blatantly fascist move by the Supreme Court? Get rid of the “representatives” who can be and are bought, the legislators who draft laws without the public’s input nor consent and who only listen to lobbyists. Last but certainly not least, lets dump the “Electoral College“, does anyone even understand how it works? Much like “The Fed” I suppose, they are both just as opaque. Actually I do know how it works but I still don’t get any real say in it’s composition (ballots should have a “write in candidate” provision if anything at all).
I bet this country would look A LOT different if no policy decisions could be made without letting the people vote on them. We wouldn’t have the Patriot Act, income taxes, wouldn’t have started wars with Vietnam, Iraq nor Afghanistan. We wouldn’t have the NSA spying on everybody for the past twenty years, local police forces that looked like miniature armies, corruption in Washington, big bank bailouts, fluoride in our water, GMO’s in our stores, Organized (gang) Stalking, ten billion illegal aliens, drug prohibitions, firearm prohibitions, the “Federal” reserve, the Electoral College etc. etc.. The list goes on infinitum.
